Joyce Buckner, Ph.D., is an internationally recognized authority on intimate relationships and founder of the Southwest Institute for Relationship Development in Texas. A licensed psychologist and marriage and family therapist, she is certified by the Council for the National Registry of Health Service Providers in Psychology.

She is the author of "Making Real Love Happen: The New ERA of Intimacy," which shows couples how using Empathy, Respect, and Authenticity in their communications, can help them make the changes they want most in their intimate relationships.

Dr. Buckner has been a major contributor to the theory and practice of Imago Relationship Therapy since 1983, and she is a past president of the International Association for Imago Relationship Therapy, as well as a Master IRT Trainer.
